Welcome to the Timeball Tower website. The tower is located on the seafront in Deal. This website will give you an insight into the Tower, what it is and information on exhibits and opening times.

The Deal Timeball Tower Museum is owned by Dover District Council, but is leased to, and operated by the Deal Museum Trust. It is manned solely by volunteers who gladly give of their time freely - we are indebted to them all.

We are particularly indebted to the Deal & Walmer Lions association, who staff the tower for us midweek - please support the Lions whenever you can.

Thanks are due to Deal Town Council for a generous grant towards revenue costs.

The Deal Museum Trust is a registered charity - No. 1097132 and limited company - No. 4067768

We are open Wed-Sun until the end of September. However we are very willing to open for group appointments at other times.

The museum contains exhibits related to signalling and precision electrical timekeeping.

Items on display include working examples of master clocks by

Synchronome, Gents, English Clock Systems, ITR, Magneta, and Brillie.

We also have a rare Shepherd Clock on display.

FATHERS DAY SPECIAL - JUNE 15th

Dad's allowed in free on Fathers day provided they are accompanied by a fee-paying child who is prepared to take responsibility for them!

ECO TOURS

ECO TOURS operate historical, pedal rickshaw tours along the Deal seafront. The Deal Museum Trust are pleased to collaborate with ECO TOURS who use the Timeball Tower as a terminus. Anyone paying for an historical tour with ECO TOURS will be allowed to visit the Timeball Tower Museum at half price.

Please note:- The Rickshaws only operate in good weather.
